Caleb Lomu gets bashed on social media for wild NFL Draft broadcast dance

Although the noise was loud for the organization leading up to the draft (thanks to Mike Vrabel), the New England Patriots made a selection in the first round on Thursday night in offensive tackle Caleb Lomu. However, immediately after being picked, sports fans roasted Lomu on social media for his wild dance on the NFL Draft broadcast.

On ESPN’s broadcast, while Mel Kiper Jr. was sharing his take on Lomu’s career outlook, the video showcasing Lomu, where the players typically stand in a pose, showed the former Utah Utes offensive lineman spinning in a circle while waving his arms in a dance move. Numerous accounts on X, formerly Twitter, made jokes about the clip, making it go viral.

“Drake Maye is relying on Will Campbell and this dude to protect him… ” It’s over,” claimed popular meme account GhettoGronk.

This user joked, “How buddy on the ‘Longest Yard’ was after they switched his steroids with estrogen.”

“Hey Caleb, just come to play, bro. I’m gonna act like I didn’t see this… Just come to play, Caleb. You play good, we’re not gonna have to worry about that clip or nothing, right? If Drake May has like 15 sacks by like Week 6, please bring up that clip. Chat, we’re gonna have to have a discussion on that now. Bro, I’m not blushing. Stop, man. Cut it out,” said Flight Reacts on his live stream.

Another individual stated, “A OL twerking on national TV is wild lol.”

“No lie, that’s exactly who you want protecting you lol he don’t give a f***,” explained one sports fan.

Caleb Lomu joins the Patriots after playing at Utah for three seasons. He sat out most of his freshman year in 2023, but stepped up as a starter the following two campaigns, playing 24 games for the Utes during that stretch. At 6-foot-6 and 313 lbs, Lomu has the size to potentially become a star offensive tackle in the league.
