Pangos Spring Showcase: Top Performers

Dinos Trigonis is ahead of the curve.  The first independent event operator to bring NBA scouts back into the gym by getting his Pangos All-American Camp NBA certified is at it again.  He got the prestigious Tarkanian Classic NBA certified before other high school events were allowed to be filled with NBA scouts, and is at it again with his latest venture: The Pangos Spring Showcase.

The invite-only event featured a unique format in that prep schools were able to play against AAU teams throughout the weekend in Phoenix. This format brought a higher level of both competition and coaching, but did something even more important: It allowed NCAA D-1 coaches to attend.

While some D-1 programs were unsure because of this cutting-edge idea, both Arizona and BYU cleared everything with their compliance staff to sit courtside for the scholastic teams playing. The energy and atmosphere that this innovative format brought took competition to new heights at Arizona state champion Sunnyslope High School, and there was no shortage of elite talent in house.

Yann Kamagate, 7’0″, C, Compton Magic 17U, 2028

There wasn’t a player who helped themselves more in Phoenix than Yann Kamagate.  The 7-footer from St. Francis HS (Cal.) was forced to sit out his sophomore campaign, but the work that he put in throughout the year was evident at Pangos. The massive big man from Burkina Faso put a hurting on the rim, made some tough finishes in traffic, and showed a better skill level than you’d expect out of a developing big man.

USC and Nebraska put scholarship offers on the table immediately after the event, and Kamagate should reach five-star status by the time the next national 2028 rankings are released.

Mmesoma Ndubisi, 6’8″, SF, CIA Bella Vista Prep (Ariz.), 2028

An absolute game changer athletically, Mmesoma Ndubisi was an absolute terror on the rim at the Pangos Spring Showcase.  The bouncy forward was a beast in transition, made some great cuts to the rack, and showed improved consistency as a 3-point shooter.

Fresh off winning an NSPA title with CIA Bella Vista Prep, the Canadian is definitely a sleeper that you’ll be hearing more about on the circuit.

Delton Prescott, 5’11”, PG, Arizona Unity 17U, 2027

The best pure point guard at Pangos, Delton Prescott, showed his ability to control the game with his play for AZ Unity. An exceptionally smart lead guard, Prescott was able to get into the lane at will, creating for himself and others.

Fresh off winning an AIA state title at Sunnyslope High School, Delton is still flying a bit under the radar nationally, but that’s simply because people can’t get over his size, and it has nothing to do with his game on the hardwood.

Javon Bardwell, 6’6″, SF, Compton Magic 17U, 2027

One of the truly elite wings in the nation, Javon Bardwell, lived up to the hype with the Compton Magic.  He is an ultra-athletic swingman who is an elite finisher in transition, nearly automatic with his mid-range jumper, and a constant threat as a cutter or on the offensive glass.

Already committed to the Adidas flagship program, Kansas, “Vonny” will be one of the higher-end prospects on the 3SSB circuit this summer.

Herjok Jongroor, 6’10”, PF, Set The Pace Academy, 2028

A player that I was not familiar with going into the event, Herjok Jongroor, showed what he could do as a stretch big at the Pangos Spring Showcase. The long-armed big man had 28 points and 8 rebounds against a loaded Compton Magic squad, showed his range (hit 4 3-pointers), and possesses immense agility on the defensive end.

Jongroor is a name that many haven’t heard of yet, but that will certainly change once the live period rolls around.

Camden McKinney, 6’7″, SF/PF, Belmont Shore, 2027

Able to get it done inside and out, Camden McKinney continued to show that he belongs at the Pangos Spring Showcase.  The sturdy forward utilizes his size to post smaller defenders (especially from mid-post), can extend to the 3-point line, and is extremely confident as a scoring threat.

The Co-MVP of the Pangos Best of SoCal League already holds D-1 offers and, after dealing with issues with his transfer this past season, should be in for a monster senior campaign at Oakland Tech.

Noah George, 6’3″, PG, CIA Bella Vista Prep (Ariz.), 2026

A heady lead guard who has constantly improved, Noah George showed why he has the potential to be a mid-major steal at Northern Arizona in today’s transfer portal era.  The sturdy lead guard made heady plays while keeping his dribble alive, utilized his strength on the defensive end, and showed improvement as a 3-point shooter.

Many slept on his older brother, Nait (now at Pitt after being the starting lead guard at both Georgia Tech and Syracuse), and Noah certainly has the tools to follow in his footsteps.

Isaac Hagens, 6’7″, SF, Belmont Shore, 2027

Another player who shined at the Pangos Best of SoCal League, Isaac Hagens complimented McKinney as an inside/out forward. He is a solid 3-point shooter who produces at a high rate and puts his 6’7″ frame to work against smaller defenders. Hagens is already hearing from no shortage of D-1 programs and will be an essential piece for a talented Long Beach Poly squad.
