The Buffalo Sabres are in the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2011, but the KeyBank Center hasn’t forgotten how to have a postseason-level party. The roof nearly rose off the stadium in the Sabres’ late third period comeback against the Bruins in Game 1, and they got the noise started early before Game 2 when Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen hit the ceremonial drum before the opening puck drop.

Teams with MVP-level players on their other sports teams have a cheat code for getting their fans fired up before a game. The Bruins often use Boston Celtics and New England Patriots players before their games, and now the Sabres are embracing Allen’s fanhood. After Buffalo’s Game 1 win, Allen even rocked Sabres apparel in a press conference.
If Allen needed any more reason to win over the fans, he also chugged a beer after hitting the drum while rocking a goathead Alex Tuch jersey. If there is anything that wins over the hearts of Buffalo sports fans, it’s Josh Allen, beer, and the Sabres’ goathead jerseys.
The Sabres are looking to take a commanding 2-0 lead in their first round series against the Bruins after their comeback win on Sunday night. Boston held a 2-0 lead with seven minutes remaining in the third period, before Buffalo scored four unanswered goals to escape with a 4-3 victory. A playoff series isn’t over until a team loses at home, but the Bruins could be in trouble if they return to TD Garden in a two-game hole. They weathered the storm Allen caused in the first period, but there is still plenty of time for the KeyBank Center crowd to get fired up again.
