New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers might have raised some eyebrows with his recent comment about the Arizona Cardinals’ selection of running back Jeremiyah Love as the No. 3 overall pick at the 2026 NFL Draft on Thursday.
When it was announced that the Cardinals selected the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football running back Love, Nabers appeared to be a little upset about it.
Nabers said he still loves the running backs New York has, but he also seemed to want the Giants to get Love.
“Yeah, I mean, granted, do I love my running backs I have now? Absolutely. But having that kind of running back in the backfield with Jaxson [Dart] bro, you don’t know who’s getting the ball. He’s a home run back and the defense has to come down and play that,” Nabers said during the Bleacher Report’s draft show.
Nabers added that potentially having a talent like Love on the team would give him “an opportunity to not face double coverage.”
Nabers can always have an opinion, but the Giants already have a solid young running back in Cam Skattebo, who was having quite a rookie season in 2025 until he suffered a season-ending injury. In eight games, Skattebo had 410 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 101 carries to go with 207 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 24 receptions and 32 targets.
In any case, the Giants ended up with Ohio State Buckeyes star linebacker Arvell Reese for their No. 5 pick overall before taking offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa at the No. 10 spot.
