Following the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 126-104 Game 3 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Thursday night, guard Jaylon Tyson shifted focus to a personal milestone, reacting to his brother Jordyn Tyson being selected No. 8 overall by the New Orleans Saints in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Speaking during a postgame locker room scrum, Tyson reflected on his connection to the franchise that drafted his brother.
“Growing up, that was my favorite team. The New Orleans Saints was my favorite team with Drew Brees, Michael Thomas…”
As Tyson continued, Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell jokingly called out the comment while laughing in the background, adding a lighthearted moment to the exchange.
“You f*king liar.”
Tyson doubled down on his claim.
“I promise you on everything I love. Michael Thomas was my favorite player but don’t worry about him.”

Jaylon Tyson sees Jordyn as key culture piece for rebuilding Saints
He later addressed Jordyn’s fit with the Saints, pointing to the organization’s current direction and potential opportunity.
“He went to an organization obviously, they’re trying to figure things out, tryna rebuild, but I think he’s gonna be a good culture piece and I think he could go there and be a big piece and turn that thing around.”
Jordyn Tyson’s selection marks a significant moment for the family, as he enters the NFL as a top-10 pick with expectations to contribute early for a Saints team looking to reshape its roster.
New Orleans now turns its attention to Day 2 of the draft, holding picks No. 42 in the second round and No. 73 in the third round on Friday night at 7 p.m. ET, with coverage on NFL Network, ABC and ESPN in Pittsburgh.
Meanwhile, Cleveland will look to respond in Game 4 on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on ESPN, aiming to regain momentum in the series before it shifts back to Cleveland next Wednesday.
