Saints’ Jordyn Tyson NFL Draft selection leaves Tyler Shough with just 3 words

It did not take long for New Orleans Saints fans to buzz with excitement when the team took wide receiver Jordyn Tyson with the No. 9 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Nobody was more enthused with the selection than quarterback Tyler Shough.

Coming off an Offensive Rookie of the Year-worthy season, Shough has already brought the excitement back to a previously aimless Saints team. The 26-year-old now has a dangerous new playmaker to work with in year two and did not even try to contain his excitement in his immediate reaction.

“YESSIRRR,” Shough tweeted in response to the Tyson pick. “Let’s work.”

The Saints have made offense a priority in their last two NFL Drafts under head coach Kellen Moore. They invested in left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. in the first round in 2025 before taking Shough in round two, and are now continuing the pattern with Tyson.

Tyson lit the college football world on fire with an explosive sophomore season, during which he put up 75 catches, 1,101 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. Health slowed him down in 2025, but scouts still valued his athleticism, speed and frame as a top-15 pick of the draft.

If Tyson can return to his peak form, the Saints now have one of the most dynamic two-man receiving tandems in the league. Shough guided Chris Olave to a career-high 1,163-yard season in 2025, and the All-Pro wideout now gets to work with another potentially elite pass-catcher for the first time in his career.

Entering year two with Moore, the Saints also added running back Travis Etienne Jr. to their budding offensive core.
