Valencia MotoGP Post-Race Subscriber Notes: Aprilia’s Speed, The Dangers Of Holeshots, And Honda’s Concessions

So it’s over. We have our final champion, Diogo Moreira holding his nerve in the Moto2 race to join Marc Márquez in MotoGP and Jose Antonio Rueda in Moto3. We have our final winner, Marco Bezzecchi recovering from an unreleased holeshot device on Saturday to control the race on Sunday. We had yet more chaos and confusion, including another awful day for Pecco Bagnaia through no fault of his own. And Honda moved up to join KTM and Aprilia in Concessions Category C, Luca Marini securing the 9 points they needed to make the cut.

In many ways, it was pretty typical 2025 MotoGP round. Or at least, typical of MotoGP post Marc Márquez injury. If there was anything atypical about it, it was that we had a back-to-back winner not named Marc Márquez since Pecco Bagnaia won the last two MotoGP rounds of 2024 at Sepang and Barcelona, renamed Solidarity because of the horrendous flooding which had devastated Valencia a week earlier.
