US Open 2025 Quarterfinals Set: Can Alcaraz, Djokovic, Sabalenka & Pegula Deliver?

Tuesday’s action from the 2025 US Open in Flushing Meadows, New York will feature former winner Carlos Alcaraz looking to reach the semifinals. The talented Spaniard will take on Jiri Lehecka for the fourth-time in their careers.
Alcaraz has been on a tear this event, not losing a set in his first, four matches. Alcaraz will be No. 1 in the world if he wins the US Open.
The day’s second quarterfinal will see 24-time Major winner Novak Djokovic take on No. 4 seed and last year’s finalist Taylor Fritz.
Leading Fritz 10-0 in career head-to-head meetings, Djokovic will certainly be eager to make it 11-0 against America’s top ranked male.
The legendary Serb has reached the semifinals of all three Majors this year. If he is to get past Fritz, he would play the winner of Alcarz or Lehecka.
Djokovic defeated Alcaraz in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open earlier this year, and owns a 2-0 head-to-head lead over Lehecka in lifetime meetings.
On Monday, top seed Jannik Sinner poured in a memorable performance to dismiss No. 23 seed Alexander Bublik 6-1, 6-1, 6-1. Needing only 81 minutes to advance, Sinner will next face No. 10 seed Lorenzo Musetti for a semifinal birth.
No. 8 seed Alex de Minaur and No. 25 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime were also victorious on Monday. The pair will face off in a third career meeting on Wednesday. Auger-Aliassime currently owns a 2-1 head-to-lead over the Australian.
Sabalenka, Pegula Aim for Semifinal Rematch
Top seed and defending champion Aryna Sabalenka will aim to reach the semifinals of the US Open on Tuesday, taking on former Wimbledon winner Marketa Vondrousova.
Sabalenka owns a slight 5-4 head-to-head over Vondrousova, and will be looking avenge a recent loss to the Czech player in Berlin, Germany.
During the day session, last year’s finalist Jessica Pegula will try to even her head-to-head with Barbora Krejcikova at 2-all when the pair face-off in Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Pegula has been in good form during this event, and Krejcikova saved eight match points against Taylor Townsend in the fourth round.
On Monday, No. 2 seed Iga Swiatek defeated No. 13 seed Ekaterina Alexandrova in straight sets, No. 23 seed Naomi Osaka upset No. 3 seed Coco Gauff 6-3, 6-2, No. 8 seed Amanda Anisimova got past No. 18 seed Beatriz Haddad Maia 6-0, 6-3, and No. 11 seed Karolina Muchova dismissed No. 27 seed Marta Kostyuk in three sets.
On Wednesday, Swiatek will set up a Wimbledon finals rematch with Anisimova, and Osaka will take on Muchova.
