Shelton, Auger-Aliassime and Vacherot Move into Paris Masters Quarterfinals
Thursday’s ATP Tour results from Rolex Paris Masters in France featured National Bank Open winner Ben Shelton fly into the quarterfinals, defeating former top 10 player Andrey Rublev 7-6(6), 6-3.
Using his big serve to great effect, Shelton will next face either No. 2 seed Jannik Sinner or Francisco Cerundolo for a place in the semifinals.
Shelton also qualified for the ATP Finals in Turin, Italy for the first time with his victory on Thursday.
Elsewhere, Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime kept his hopes alive of reaching the finals in Turin, defeating Daniel Altmaier 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Auger-Aliassime—the No. 9 seed this week—will next face Shanghai Masters winner Valentin Vacherot for a place in the final four.
Vacherot took out Carlos Alcaraz‘s conqueror Cameron Norrie 7-6(4), 6-4 earlier in the day.
Still to come on Thursday, No. 4 seed Taylor Fritz will take on Alexander Bublik from Kazakhstan, and No. 3 seed Alexander Zverev to go up against No. 15 seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
Both Fritz and Zverev have qualified for the ATP Finals in Turin.
