Rams urged to ‘find last infinity stone’ with NFL Draft trade up to complete Super Bowl gauntlet

The Los Angeles Rams nearly made the Super Bowl in 2025. Los Angeles should feel a special sense of urgency to draft great players during the 2026 NFL Draft. One national analyst believes that the Rams need to get aggressive in the draft if they want to make the Super Bowl in 2026.

ESPN’s Ben Solak gave advice to every team in the NFL before the draft in his latest article.

Solak urged LA to go all in on the 2026 season. He argued that the Rams need to build a Super Bowl contender around Matthew Stafford right away.

“It’s rare that I write this in the pre-draft process, but here goes: Don’t draft for the future. Draft for the now. Trade up aggressively. Find the last infinity stone. Every year with Stafford might be your last,” Solak argued. “Eventually the Rams will need a quarterbacking heir, but coach Sean McVay is well-compensated and regarded for a reason — he’ll help solve that problem when it comes. For now, just win.”

Stafford is in the last year of his current contract. It is unclear how much longer the 38-year-old quarterback will play in the NFL. So it does make some sense to capitalize on having Stafford around for one more season.

Solak specifically recommended that LA target pro-ready players in the draft who could contribute starting in Week 1.

The Rams could use some help at a few positions. Their biggest needs include a long-term starter at right tackle, another starting-caliber wide receiver, and possibly an off-ball linebacker.

It will be exciting to see if LA makes any aggressive moves during the first round on April 23rd.
