In one of the most exciting Grind Session seasons to date, FAB 50 No. 1 Prolific Prep (Southwest Ranches, Fla.) was crowned the World Champions, yet again. In a matchup that onlookers throughout the nation were dying to see for a second time this season, Prolific Prep topped absolutely loaded FAB 50 No. 27 Southeastern Prep (Orlando, Fla.), 68-62, to take home their fourth consecutive Grind Session World Championship.
In what was definitely a defensive minded game, the teams were virtually neck and neck the entire game until the final minute. Despite Prolific winning by six points, the game was even closer than that with both teams making considerable runs throughout until “The Crew” pulling away in the final minute after the game was tied 62-62.
“I am really proud of this victory. This was a really high level game. I really have to give a lot of credit to Coach (David) Peavy for how his guy’s played,” Prolific head coach Ryan Bernardi said after the game. “They have had a tumultuous year, but they were playing their best basketball here at the end. This was a heavyweight bout and for a Grind Session game to be played with the progressive rules that we have to be played in the low 60’s shows the level of intensity of that game.”

The No. 1 team in the Ballislife FAB 50 is moving on to the Chipotle Nationals, but not before we take a closer look at the top performers from the 2026 Grind Session World Championship:
Caleb Holt, 6’5, SG, Prolific Prep (Cal.), 2026
The epitome of a two way guard, the MVP of the Grind Session (16 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals) brought the poise, intensity defensively, and intangibles that it took for Prolific Prep to take home their latest Grind Session World Championship. The McDonald’s All-American defended a multitude of positions, showed considerable improvement as a shooter, and has made a ton of growth with his development as a combo guard. Having already won a state title during his younger years in Alabama, the Arizona recruit’s championship pedigree was evident to anyone who saw the game in Owensboro.
CJ Rosser, 6’9, SF, Southeastern Prep (Fla.), 2027
The best offensive player in the class of 2027 left no doubt in anyone’s mind why he should be sitting atop national player rankings. At every bit of 6-foot-9, the North Carolina product showed that he’s every bit of a three level scorer and when engaged defensively, there isn’t anyone like him in the class of 2027. Running with Team United in the EYBL, Rosser is definitely going to have a target on his back, but has shown much improved confidence to handle the pressure that comes with being top dog in the class.
Bruce Branch, 6’7, SF, Prolific Prep (Cal.), 2026
Another player who made considerable strides throughout the season, Bruce Branch III showcased his complete game en route to Prolific’s championship. The versatile swingman was much more assertive on the defensive end, maintained his presence as a scoring threat, and put forth a concerted effort to showcase his overall game. The impact that the BYU recruit had during the title run went far beyond the 11 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks that he posted against Southeastern Prep.
Davion Adkins, 6’9, Prolific Prep (Cal.), 2026
The perfect glue guy, Davion Adkins went from being a focal point offensively last year at Faith Family (Oak Cliff, Texas) to arguably the best role player in the Grind Session for champion Prolific Prep. The Dallas product was a presence at the rim on both ends of the floor, was Prolific’s most versatile defender, and showed that he can score outside of the paint with his shot push shots. The 16 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 2 steals he hung on Southeastern Prep give you a glimpse of the impact that he’s going to bring to Kansas next season.
Alex Smith, 6’7, SF, Prolific Prep (Cal.), 2026
One of the better shooters in the nation, Alex Smith came off the bench at times for Prolific Prep, but ultimately was named Grind Session World Championship Player Of The Game with his 15-point performance. The Ohio State recruit job did a great job of relocating to open areas for his five 3-pointers (including 3 straight in the second quarter when Prolific was trailing) and looked like he could have helped the Buckeyes this past season. Smith fells like he’s far more than a shooter and isn’t as bad as people think defensively, saying, “tell them to stop going after me; I can guard, bro” immediately following Prolific’s championship win.
Beckham Black, 6’3, PG, Southeastern Prep (Fla.), 2027
The best pure point guard in the class of 2027, Beckham Black was an absolute floor general throughout Southeastern Prep’s run to the title game at the Grind Session World Championship. The playmaker showed great poise with his timing, made high level cross court passes to the corners, and utilized his added size as a scorer in the second half. Anthony Black’s little bro finished with 16 points and 11 assists, and still appears to be growing given the considerable height he’s gained in the past couple of years.
