It is 2026 at last, and as someone pointed out on social media, the second quarter of the 21st Century has started. (Cue arguments over whether centuries are zero-based arrays, and that the second quarter of the 21st Century actually started last year.) So what better way to kick off the year than with a series of wild, baseless predictions?
Before we get to that, I should revisit my 2025 predictions, and see how well I did. Overall I made seven predictions, spread over two articles I wrote in early January 2025. You can find the first part here, and the second part here. Here’s what I predicted, and how right I was:
