Phillip Island Or Albert Park? Jockeying Over Future Of Australian MotoGP Round Hits Full Swing

Negotiations over the future of the Australian MotoGP round appear to be in full swing. Early in January, the Melbourne Herald Sun reported that the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, which runs both MotoGP at Phillip Island and the F1 round at Albert Park in Melbourne, was in talks with Dorna over an extension of their current contract to keep the race at Phillip Island. That contract is set to expire after the 2026 MotoGP round at Phillip Island on October 25th.
