The NFL Draft is about to begin, but the talk of the town is the scandalous affair between New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel and former NFL insider of The Athletic, Dianna Russini. With the outside noise at an all-time high, Vrabel issued a statement to media members before the start of the draft.
Vrabel, who is 50 years old, admitted that his past behavior, which has recently come to light do not meet the standards he holds for himself, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN. Vrabel then proclaimed that his family needs him right now, and that’s why he will be going to counseling on Day 3 of the NFL Draft.
“My previous actions don’t meet the standard that I hold myself to,” said Vrabel… “My family needs me this weekend, and that’s where I’ll be.”

On Thursday morning, while the Patriots and the other 31 teams in the league were preparing for the first round of the draft, new photos emerged online of Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini at a bar in New York in 2020. One of the photos featured the two sharing a kiss, despite the fact that they are each married to different people.
The Patriots also shared an official statement on Thursday morning after the photos were revealed. New England claimed it is supporting and backing Vrabel with his decision to focus on his family by Day 3 of the draft. The franchise will seemingly work with Vrabel to help him however he needs.
In the meantime, Dianna Russini resigned from The Athletic shortly after denying the initial photos with Mike Vrabel were anything more than an innocent gathering with friends. Her future in reporting is currently unknown.
