Pangos Best of SoCal: Top 2027 Prospects

Summer grassroots basketball is officially here. While a few states are still conducting their playoffs, with the CIF concluding its 2025-26 season this past weekend in Sacramento, legendary independent event operator Dinos Trigonis brought some of the West Coast’s top underclassmen together at McBride High School in Long Beach for the Pangos Best of SoCal Spring League.

The invite only event brought players from all of the west coast and while comprised mostly of underclassmen, the Best of SoCal Spring League offered players that you will eventually be seeing at the high major level at some point in time. Sponsors Spalding and Roundballin brought no shortage of signage and gear for the players, and GameBook Stats offered totally accurate stats all throughout the weekend. All games were streamed on Baller TV and smaller college coaches were present on the baseline culminating with an outstanding event that gave you a glimpse of the future.

While the sophomore class stole the show at the Best of So-Cal and we took a deeper look at the unsigned seniors, there were a number of juniors out of the class of 2027 who deserved recognition from their play. Here’s a look at six 2027 standouts from the FulllCourt Press Pangos Best of SoCal League:

Brooklyn Ross, 6’7, SF, Aquinas HS (Calif.), 2027

A player who is just scratching the surface of what he could become, Brooklyn Ross may be the highest upside junior that the Pangos Best of So-Cal had to offer. The long armed forward has an outstanding frame, utilizes his athleticism on both ends of the floor, and was comfortable going to work facing up from the perimeter.  The camp’s Co-MVP will be running with the Oakland Soldiers in the EYBL this summer.

Camden McKinney, 6’7, SF/PF, Oakland Tech (Calif.) 2027

A big time shot maker, Camden McKinney scored in virtually every way imaginable en route to a Co-MVP selection at the Pangos Best of So-Cal League. The new age forward has a near unstoppable pull-up from mid-range, posts smaller defenders, and can really go to work in isolation situations. McKinney already holds D-1 offers and has put himself on everyone’s radar in the state of California.

Gary Ferguson, 6’3, PG/SG, St. Bernard HS (Calif.), 2027

The most electric scorer at the Pangos Best of So-Cal League, Gary Ferguson’s 44-point outing absolutely set the event on fire. The big time athlete was tough to stop when he was going downhill (especially going right), was super confident shooting off the bounce, and finished with creativity in the paint. Already holding offers in both basketball and football, Ferguson has no shortage of options for the next level.

Isaac Hagens, 6’7, PF, Long Beach Poly (Calif.), 2027

A do-it-all forward, Isaac Hagens got it done inside and out during his Cream of The Crop Top 20 selection at Pangos Best of SoCal. The sturdy forward punished smaller defenders on the block, was automatic playing out of the mid-post, and showed the ability to shoot it out to the 33-point line. Hagens’ level of productivity and offensive versatility make him a definite name to watch in Southern California.

Maxwell Scott, 6’2, PG/SG, Corona Del Mar HS (Calif.), 2027

Corona Del Mar’s all-time leading scorer carried over his level of production from the high school season to the Pangos Best of SoCal League. He is a serious shooter who does a great job relocating without the ball, has elite touch as a finisher in the paint, and plays the game at his own pace.  Already owning an offer from UC-Riverside, Scott has firmly established himself as a viable D-1 prospect.

Kavan Bowden, 6’3, PG/SG, Rancho Cucamonga HS (Calif.), 2027

As far as straight scoring was concerned, there wasn’t anyone who put up bigger numbers than Kavan Bowden. While still under the radar, he put the pressure on defenders anytime he had the ball, made a number of tough jumpers, and converted some tough takes at the rim. Bowden dropped back to back 40 point games and ultimately made the Cream of The Crop Top 20 game.
