NFL rumors: Jordyn Tyson injury red flags dismissed amid Carnell Tate debate

Numerous wide receivers will be looking to be the first player selected at the position in the 2026 NFL Draft. Arizona State standout Jordyn Tyson will be one of them.

As the draft approaches, Tyson’s stock is only rising. While he had medical concerns throughout the pre-draft process, those now seem to have dissipated, via Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports.

“The more I talk to folks and the closer it gets to the draft, the more it seems Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson will be the first receiver selected tonight,” Jones wrote. “Sources at multiple teams have told me he’s the most talented receiver in the draft. The knock on him has been his injury history. He tore multiple ligaments in his knee in 2022 and has battled various injuries since then.”

“One exec whose team had medical concerns about Tyson early in April no longer has those concerns today,” he concluded.

The wide receiver suffered a serious knee injury back in 2022, affecting numerous ligaments. Then, he broke his collarbone in 2024 and suffered a hamstring injury in 2025. All of those injuries may be viewed as red flags, but the NFL at large seems to be giving him a clean bill of health entering his rookie season.

Despite the bumps and bruises, Tyson managed to appear in 33 games over his four collegiate seasons; one with Colorado, three at Arizona State. Overall, he caught 158 passes for 2,282 yards and 22 touchdowns. Tyson was named First-Team All-Big 12 in 2024 and 2025.

When he enters the NFL, whoever drafts the wide receiver is expecting to get an immediate playmaker. It doesn’t seem like Tyson will have to wait long before he finds out who that franchise is.
