Last month, YouTuber and wrestler Logan Paul issued a challenge to fight any NFL player in a boxing match. Fans quickly floated several names, but it was former running back Le’Veon Bell who was serious in stepping into the spotlight.
Bell even called out Paul on social media several times, urging him to send the contract. Paul offered $1 million for the supposed bout and set the parameters.
But just when many were getting excited, the challenge suddenly fizzled out. Bell, who starred for the Pittsburgh Steelers during his prime, claimed that Paul ducked him.
On the “Get Got Pod with Marshawn Lynch & Mike Robinson,” the 34-year-old Bell totally tore into the 31-year-old Paul.
“This was the craziest duck I’ve ever seen, bro. Because you got to the point where you really set up the whole fight. You set the whole 10-ounce gloves, no headgear. We’re going to do six rounds, three minutes,” said Bell.
“I was like, ‘Oh no, we’re not going to do six rounds, three minutes, no, no no. I don’t want none of your judges.’ I told them, ‘We don’t need no judges, we don’t need no rounds, and let’s just go until somebody stops. Let’s just go until whoever says, ‘I quit,’ and that’s who wins. Let’s go to see who stops. Dog-house rules. That’s what Floyd does, that’s what they do in the Mayweather Gym. Dog-house rules, and I already know he wasn’t ready for that.”
Bell and Paul are almost evenly matched in height at 6-foot-1 and 6-foot-2, respectively. Paul might have the advantage in speed and stamina. But while Bell has slowed down over the years, it is clear that his competitiveness has waned.
The three-time Pro Bowler also slammed Paul for claiming that the WWE did allow him to fight because he might get hurt. Paul signed with WWE in 2022.
Paul’s last boxing match was in 2023, winning over Dillon Danis via disqualification.
