In a fun twist, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has announced ESPN as the Super Bowl 61 network in a hilarious Draft-like parody.
ESPN revealed the new Super Bowl 61 commercial on the morning of the beginning of the 2026 NFL Draft. Goodell takes the stage to boos from Mike Greenberg. The commentators for the game, Troy Aikman and Joe Buck, are also at the meeting.
“With the 61st pick of the Super Bowl, the National Football League selects ESPN. You’re on the clock,” Goodell says before telling Buck, “Hey, congratulations on your first Super Bowl.”
You know what that sound means

Of course, Buck has called six Super Bowls. However, the 2027 game will be his first since he and Aikman jumped ship to ESPN. Previously, they were FOX’s lead duo.
The 2026 NFL Draft kicks off on ESPN and ABC on Thursday, Apr. 23. This makes the new commercial extremely timely. It will continue through Apr. 25.
This year, the NFL Draft is being held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. There will be seven rounds and 257 picks across them. It begins at 8 pm EST.

In 2027, ESPN will broadcast the Super Bowl for the first time. They have been added to the annual rotation, meaning they will broadcast the game every four years.
Granted, its parent company, ABC, has previously served as the network for the game. However, it has been two decades since Feb. 5, 2006, since ABC last showed the game. So, 2027 will be special for both sides.
Super Bowl 61 will be played at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. In addition to the main broadcast with Buck and Aikman, the ManningCast, featuring Peyton and Eli Manning, will be shown on ESPN2. This gives fans multiple options when choosing to enjoy the game.
That’s not the only unique thing about the game. It will be played on Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14) in 2027, which will make for some interesting choices among couples. This is also Presidents’ Day weekend.
