The Los Angeles Chargers may have a new fan favorite on their hands. Newcomer Alec Ingold will over Jim Harbaugh through more than physicality. But by dropping an NSFW mantra that fits the head coach perfectly.
The NFL Free Agency addition spoke to reporters ahead of NFL Draft week Monday. He fired up Charger fans with five words.
“I run and hit s—,” Ingold told reporters.
Bolts fans already became energized, with one posting a “that’s what I’m talking about” gif in response. Another fan remarked by saying how Ingold already sounds like a Harbaugh guy.
Ingold parted ways with Miami on March 6, ending a four season run with the Dolphins. He even once signed a $17.2 million extension with Miami back in Aug. 2023. That contract made Ingold one of the league’s highest paid fullbacks.
Ingold’s position slowly turned into a dinosaur across the league. NFL teams ran more three wide receiver sets with a single back. This look eliminated the fullback from base formations, though.
But Harbaugh prefers an old school, downhill approach featuring a fullback paving running lanes. He landed one of the league’s best at punishing linebackers and other defenders who try to come near his running back.
Ingold rises as an underrated offseason find for the Bolts. The 29-year-old lures 667 total yards from scrimmage including 611 receiving to LAC, handing Harbaugh a check down receiver too.
He punishes defenders without needing to have the football, though. He’s blocked for three different 1,000-yard rushers: Josh Jacobs with the Oakland Raiders (2019), then Dolphin teammates Raheem Mostert and DeVon Achane. Now Omarion Hampton has Ingold handling the dirty work for 2026.
