It is race week once again, albeit for WorldSBK at Assen, with MotoGP back in action at Jerez the weekend after. And so the pace of actual news – beyond riders training around various places – is starting to pick up again. Here’s a couple of stories that caught my eye.
Ai Ogura to Yamaha
In perhaps the biggest surprise of the 2027 Silly Season so far, Motorsport.com’s Oriol Puigdemont is reporting that Yamaha will be signing current Trackhouse Aprilia rider Ai Ogura. The Japanese rider is to join Jorge Martin in the factory Yamaha team, and though the Motorsport.com story does not state the length of the contract, it is almost certain to be for two years.
