Rolex Paris Masters—Paris, France
Medvedev, Vacherot and Altmaier Reach Round of 16 at 2025 Paris Masters
Wednesday’s ATP Tour results from Rolex Paris Masters in France featured recent Shanghai Masters winner Valentin Vacherot defeat his cousin and Shanghai finalist Arthur Rinderknech 7-6(9), 6-3, 6-4.
Needing nearly three hours to prevail, Vacherot will next face Cameron Norrie for a place in the quarterfinals.
Norrie caused the upset of the tournament on Tuesday by defeating top seed Carlos Alcaraz in three sets.
Alcaraz had made the finals of every event he had played since the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters in April.
Other winners on Wednesday saw Daniil Medvedev reach the round of 16 after Grigor Dimitrov had to withdraw. The Bulgarian was playing in his first event since injuring his pectoral muscle at Wimbledon.
Daniel Altmaier also caused an upset on Wednesday by defeating No. 8 seed Casper Ruud 6-3, 7-5.
Ruud was attempting to reach the ATP Finals in Turin, where he was a semifinalist last year.
Still to come on Wednesday, No. 2 seed Jannik Sinner and No. 3 seed Alexander Zverev will be in action.
Sinner will take on Zizou Bergs, and Zverev will face Camilo Ugo Carabelli from Argentina.
The Rolex Paris Masters is the ninth and final Masters 1000 event of the season on the ATP Tour calendar.
