Mboko Becomes 7th Canadian to Reach Top 10 in Singles

[TORONTO, ON] February 13, 2026 – Victoria Mboko ensured herself a spot in the Top 10 once the
WTA rankings are updated on Monday, after defeating world No. 24 Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia in the
semi-finals of the Qatar TotalEnergies Open 2026.

The 19-year-old from Burlington, Ontario, is the fourth Canadian to achieve this feat in singles on the
WTA Tour, and the seventh overall across the women’s and men’s tours, joining Carling Bassett-Seguso,
Eugenie Bouchard, and Bianca Andreescu, as well as Milos Raonic, Denis Shapovalov, and Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Victoria Mboko is making her tournament debut at Doha
Her all-time record vs. Top 10 opponents is now 4-5, defeating Andreeva (No. 7) and Rybakina (No. 3) this week

 She is the first teenager to make the Doha WTA 1000 semi-finals since Ostapenko in 2016
