RB Leipzig are set to accept Newcastle‘s €90 million bid for Benjamin Sesko.

That is according to transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who reported early on Tuesday that Leipzig are expected to accept Newcastle’s offer that was tabled on Monday.

Tavolieri says, like Fabrizio Romano, that the offer reaches €90 million. This consists of an €80m fixed fee and €10m in add-ons.

Leipzig to accept Newcastle offer

Tavolieri says that Newcastle are now expected to reach a full agreement with Leipzig imminently.

Once they have Leipzig’s full approval, they will proceed with hopefully completing the transfer.

Tavolieri reiterates what he said last weekend, which is that Sesko has decided to join Newcastle over Man Utd.

He says that Sesko gave the green light last week for Newcastle to officially bid for him after being content with their contract offer and project.

This comes as crushing news for Man Utd, with Romano reporting on Tuesday that the Red Devils won’t make an official bid of their own for Sesko unless the player informs them he wants to join them.

Romano did say, though, that United remain very much in the race and that Sesko has not decided his next club yet.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed Man Utd’s response to the news that Newcastle have tabled a €90 million bid for Benjamin Sesko.

Man Utd and Newcastle are currently in a two-horse race for the Leipzig striker.

Newcastle see the Slovenian is seen as a replacement for Alexander Isak, who has requested to leave and is the subject of a potential British record move to Liverpool.

Man Utd also want Sesko to be their new number nine for the new season.

Sesko, who was a target for Arsenal before they signed Viktor Gyokeres, scored an impressive 21 goals in 45 games in all competitions this past season.

Sesko scored 18 goals in 42 games for his club in 2024-25 and went to Euro 2024 with Slovenia.

He has 16 goals in 41 games for Slovenia.

He will leave Leipzig this summer if the club receives a suitable offer.
