Hines Ward returning to Pittsburgh with Jordyn Tyson for NFL Draft

The 2026 NFL Draft is right around the corner, and former Arizona State Sun Devils star receiver Jordyn Tyson is aiming to find a new home when he heads to Pittsburgh next week for the draft.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers legend Hines Ward is the current wide receivers coach for Arizona State, and coached him up the last two years. It just so happens that the draft will be in the Steel City, where Ward became a legend and is hopefully close to being an NFL Hall of Famer with the Steelers.

Tyson asked Ward to accompany him to Pittsburgh next week for the draft. Ward talked about it in the video below.

Hines Ward will be headed to Pittsburgh for the NFL Draft, supporting his former wide receiver, Jordyn Tyson.

I asked him about it:

“I told him, man, really, it’s the man above that brought us to it,” Ward said. “I came here, had two great years with JT, and to have the draft in Pittsburgh and to be a part of that. He wanted me to tag along and be a part of that. I wouldn’t miss that day for the world. I am super excited for that opportunity, and whoever he ends up with, they are going to get a real one. He’s going to make some plays his rookie season.”

ASU head coach Kenny Dillingham ripped critics of Tyson as he enters a new stage of his career.

“That dude didn’t miss practice. He was moved around the entire field. I think he’s led the country in targets for two straight years,” said Dillingham in a video posted by Fox 10 Phoenix’s Blake Nieman.

“I’m not really worried about his durability, I’m not worried about his toughness. That kid’s extremely tough. People don’t know he’s played with stitches in his hand.”
