Giants’ Francis Mauigoa reveals fast friendship with Jaxson Dart

With the 10th pick of the 2026 NFL Draft, the New York Giants made Francis Mauigoa the latest addition to their budding young offensive core. Even the biggest haters of the pick have to be encouraged by how quickly he is fitting in with the team, especially with quarterback Jaxson Dart.

Mauigoa immediately went viral for saying he would “die” for Dart moments after getting drafted. With the dust now settled, the 20-year-old maintained the same energy, saying he cannot wait to play with Dart and hang out with him off the field.

“Really excited to get it going with him, to block my a** off for him and get him to make plays,” Mauigoa said, via SNY. “He’s so down-to-Earth, humble kid who loves fishing. Can’t wait to get out on the water with him someday.”

Mauigoa, who goes by ‘Sisi,’ short for his Samoan name, Falangisisi, has made the Giants’ offensive line rotation interesting entering training camp. New York entered the draft with two solid tackles after giving Jermaine Eluemunor a $39 million contract in free agency, but now Mauigoa is in the mix to start at right tackle.

Many are also speculating that the versatile Miami alum could begin his career at guard. Experts believe the 6-foot-6, 330-pounder would make an “All-Pro guard,” ESPN’s Jordan Raanan reported.

Either way, Mauigoa will likely be on the field sooner rather than later to put his money where his mouth is. The Giants’ pass protection regressed a touch in 2025, allowing Dart to absorb 35 sacks, the 11th-most in the league.
