Galatasaray ‘make first bid for Man City star’ with Pep Guardiola having already lined up replacement

Galatasaray have made their opening offer for a Manchester City star.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the Turkish club have submitted a bid of €10million (£8.3million) for goalkeeper Ederson.

City are demanding a higher fee for the Brazilian, who is in the final year of his current contract.

If Ederson is to depart then City have a move lined up for Paris Saint-Germain shot-stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who would have no problems agreeing personal terms.

Donnarumma hit out at PSG after he was frozen out, with new signing Lucas Chevalier taking over as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.

Commenting on the situation on social media, Donnarumma expressed his disappointment with the club.

He wrote: ‘Unfortunately, someone has decided that I can no longer be part of the group and contribute to the team’s success. I am disappointed and disheartened.’

Donnarumma wasn’t part of the PSG squad for their Super Cup victory against Tottenham.

Ederson has been a key part of City’s success since joining the club in 2017 and has made 372 appearances.

During that time Ederson has won six Premier League titles, the Champions League, two FA Cups and four League Cups.

City have already re-signed James Trafford from Burnley this summer, with the goalkeeper having been allocated the No 1 shirt.

Ederson is still currently considered as City’s first-choice goalkeeper ahead of Trafford and Stefan Ortega.
