Fans can’t believe Jermod McCoy’s shocking NFL Draft slide out of first 3 rounds

As soon as the 2025 college football season ended, many immediately pegged Tennessee star Jermod McCoy as the best cornerback of the 2026 NFL Draft class. Instead, despite his obvious talent and potential, the former All-American had to wait until Day Three to hear his name called.

Concerns of McCoy potentially needing another surgery caused him to fall out of the top-15 range on Day One. It was a minor surprise that he fell out of the first round entirely, but it turned into a complete shock when no team took a chance on him on Day Two, causing him to fall into Day Three.

Despite the injury concerns, fans could hardly believe a player as talented as McCoy was not taken in the first 100 picks.

“He’s such a talent, I hope whatever team takes a swing is rewarded and that McCoy is able to get fully healthy,” one fan commented.

“Jermod McCoy will be an absolute steal on Day 3,” another wrote. “There is also not a lot of risk for a team to grab him today.”

The Las Vegas Raiders finally ended McCoy’s slide with the first pick of Round 4. They traded up one spot with the Buffalo Bills to acquire the talented cornerback, who helps them address a massive need on their roster at great value.

Needless to say, Raiders fans were more than pleased to see their team select McCoy in the fourth round.

“Let’s f****** GOOOOO.”

“Hell yeah!!!” an excited fan commented. “Hoping sooo hard for this pick! Soooo freaking happy to get this baller! RAAIIIIDDEEERRRRSSS!”

“LFG! Steal of the draft!”

“Great pickup with a fourth-rounder considering the injury risk factor.”

McCoy is easily one of the best value picks of the 2026 NFL Draft. Only time will tell how much of a steal he truly is, as he has not played a snap since 2024.
