Manchester City could face competition from Chelsea in their pursuit of Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain, The Transfers Podcast has exclusively been told.
Donnarumma has confirmed he will leave PSG in the coming weeks after the French side signed Lucas Chevalier as a replacement and dropped the Italian for their UEFA Super Cup win over Tottenham this week.

However Italian reporter Aurelio Capaldi told The Transfers Podcast that the goalkeeper was ‘fascinated’ by a move to the Premier League, including to Stamford Bridge, suggesting a move cannot be ruled out.
“I think that Manchester City and Chelsea are two clubs who might be very interested in him and he might be very interested in going to the Premier League,” Capaldi said on the latest episode of the Transfers Podcast.
“He’s fascinated by Pep Guardiola and City, but he also likes London and Chelsea. So I think that these are two concrete possibilities for him.”
Andre Onana preventing Man Utd move for Donnarumma
Manchester United are also among the teams that have been credited with an interest in Donnarumma but Castles confirmed that a deal is not actively being pursued as the club would have to sell Andre Onana first.
When asked about the potential of Onana moving back to Italy, Capaldi admitted that, while a deal was unlikely, the situation was ‘always open’.
Capaldi said: “About goalkeepers, everybody seems to say that they are fine. They are okay. And then suddenly it might happen that they change goalkeeper. For example, Inter Milan looked fine during the last years but then they changed goalkeepers more than once.
“At the moment I can’t see the two Milan teams changing goalkeepers. AC Milan seemed to be ready to sell Mike Maignan just one day before Max Allegri took over. And when Allegri came in, he said Maignan is not going anywhere. So the situation with goalkeepers is always open.”
