Eagles trade up for Alabama tackle in final Daniel Jeremiah mock

The Philadelphia Eagles have become one of the winningest franchises in the NFL over the last decade, and the foundation of that has been built on the offensive line. Over the years, the Eagles have had some of the best offensive lines in football, winning a pair of Super Bowls in the last 10 years as a result.

That group took a bit of a hit last season, in large part due to injuries to star right tackle Lane Johnson. However, Johnson is nearing the end of his career, so it is going to get harder and harder to rely on him being out there for 17 games plus the playoffs every season.

The latest mock draft from NFL insider Daniel Jeremiah, the final one before the first round gets underway on Thursday night, has the Eagles addressing the offensive line. Jeremiah has the Eagles trading up with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at No. 15 to take Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor.

It’s no secret that the Lions will be looking for offensive tackle help at No. 17, so teams will be calling to try and get in front of them to take one of the top tackles available. The Bucs at 15 are a prime trade back candidate, so this is a deal that makes sense for the Eagles.

Proctor played primarily left tackle during his time at Alabama, so he would have to flip over to the right side if he replaces Johnson eventually.

At the very least, Proctor will be a quality swing tackle when he comes into the league with Mailata and Johnson as the established starters. That would prevent the Eagles from getting in the same predicament that they were in last year, when Fred Johnson had to fill in at right tackle.

Proctor is an interesting prospect. He is a behemoth at just under 6-foot-7 and 352 pounds and is a great athlete, with Alabama even finding ways to get him the ball at times. However, he had a disappointing 2025 season and is a bit of a projection at this time, making him a risk in the first round.
