Eagles somehow land an OT bigger than Jordan Mailata

The Philadelphia Eagles picked up several key players already in the 2026 NFL Draft. One of those players is a towering offensive lineman, who will likely intimidate some opposing defenses. Philadelphia took Markel Bell with their 68th overall pick, per NFL Network.

“Jordan Mailata will actually be looking up to someone in the Eagles’ locker room. The 6-9 Markel Bell, their pick at 68, has an inch on Mailata,” Mike Garafolo posted to X, formerly Twitter.

Bell played his college football in 2025 at Miami (FL). He is a massive player with a lot of strength.

“Bell, 21, is a massive prospect with a huge wingspan of over 87 inches and arms over 36 inches. He has the type of frame that is obviously intriguing to the Eagles, who did bring him in for a 30 visit during the pre-draft process,” NBC Sports reported.

At Miami, Bell didn’t allow a sack in 2025. He started at offensive tackle for the Hurricanes, who made the College Football Playoff national championship game. Miami lost to Indiana.

Philadelphia focused on offense early in the 2026 draft. In the first round, the Eagles picked up USC wide receiver Makai Lemon. Lemon was selected with the 20th overall pick.

Then in the second round, the Eagles took a tight end in Eli Stowers from Vanderbilt. Bell was the team’s third selection, as he was taken in the third round. Philadelphia also has selections in the fifth, sixth and seventh rounds.

During the 2025 NFL season, Philadelphia made the NFL Playoffs. The Eagles won 11 games. The team lost in the postseason to the San Francisco 49ers.

The NFL Draft concludes on Saturday.
