Eagles fans ‘turning on’ A.J. Brown has former Super Bowl champion teammate calling them out

The Philadelphia Eagles have been the subject of trade rumors throughout the 2026 NFL offseason, recently picking up steam once again with reports that the team would likely be dealing AJ Brown to the New England Patriots once his salary becomes tradable. The hypothetical move would bring an end to a tumultuous relationship that saw Brown routinely put the team on blast–only to drop some crucial passes in Philadelphia’s playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers this past season.

One person who is not on board with the vitriol that Eagles fans have been spewing in Brown’s direction is former Philadelphia Super Bowl champ CJ Gardner-Johnson, who took to X, formerly Twitter, to relay his thoughts on the situation.

“Philly turned on AJ so bad it’s sad! Yall love us when we help yall win but damn why yall bashing Bruda now ?!” wrote Johnson on the social media platform.

Brown had some big moments during his time with the Eagles, helping guide the team to a 2025 Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs, but his tenure with the franchise is more likely to be remembered for the strained relationship between the two sides.

At one point, Brown was seen reading a book, clearly hoping the camera would find him, during a game in which he felt he was not getting enough targets. The following season, Brown took to social media to relay a not-so-subtle message about the organization.

When the Eagles finally passed Brown the ball in the Wild Card round against the 49ers, he responded by making some crucial drops, which drew a chorus of boos from the fans in attendance.

It remains to be seen what kind of reception Brown will get if and when he returns to Philadelphia as an opposing player at some point in the future.
