Fritz, who is currently ranked No. 4 in the world, had a great grass-court season. The 27-year-old collected two titles leading into Wimbledon and reached the final four at the All England Lawn and Croquet Club.

Other matches on the day will feature No. 4 seed Ben Shelton, No. 6 seed Andrey Rublev, No. 7 seed Frances Tiafoe and No. 15 seed Arthur Fils all on court.

Shelton will square off against countryman Brandon Nakashima under the lights, while Rublev will begin the day’s action on Centre Court against No. 28 seed Lorenzo Sonego.

Medvedev walked off the court after his loss without any of his racquets and bags.

Four-time Major winner and world No. 1 Naomi Osaka returns to Centre Court in Montreal on Friday to face No. 22 seed Jelena Ostapenko.

Never an easy out, Ostapenko has proven that she can defeat any player on any given day. Osaka currently leads the pair’s head-to-head 2-0.

Other matches on the day will be highlighted by No. 2 seed Iga Swiatek, No. 3 seed Jessica Pegula, No. 5 seed Amanda Anisimova and No. 6 seed Madison Keys.
