De Minaur, who made the finals in Washington in 2018, has collected an impressive 34-13 win/loss record on the season. He has played Davidovich Fokina on four occasions, and has two wins against the Spaniard.
De Minuar defeated Corentin Moutet in the semifinals and Brandon Nakashima in the quarterfinals. De Minuar is currently ranked No. 10 in the world.
Davidovich Fokina, who has been one of the best hard-court players this year, dismissed both top seed Taylor Fritz and No. 4 seed Ben Shelton en-route to the finals.
The 26-year-old, who is at a new-career-high of No. 19 in the world, also made the finals in Delray Beach, Florida, and Acapulco, Mexico earlier this season.
Davidovich Fokina will be playing in his fourth career final, and currently stands at 0-3 in title matches.
Earlier in the day, the women’s final will be contested by former US Open finalist Leylah Fernandez, who will be taking on popular Russian Anna Kalinskaya.
Fernandez defeated former Wimbledon winner Elena Rybakina in three tiebreakers in Saturday’s semifinal, while Kalinskaya took out inform Brit Emma Raducanu in straight sets.
Kalinskaya has never won a Tour title and is currently ranked No. 31 in the world. Fernandez has claimed three career titles, and is currently ranked No. 27 in the world.
Kalinskaya has been ranked as high as No. 11 in the rankings, and Fernandez has hit a top ranking of No. 13.
The pair have played on one occasion, with Fernandez winning in three sets in the round of 32 at the Guadalajara, Mexico event in 2021.
