Concordia St. Paul gets it. As the only school in the Twin Cities representing the power Northern Sun Conference in NCAA D2, it has the capability of recruiting players many other D2s wouldn’t due to the program’s location and facilities. Coach Matt Fletcher has taken advantage of that, too. The reigning Northern Sun Interscholastic Conference Coach of The Year took CSP to its first ever NCAA D-2 Tourney last year and is building off it it by bringing the finest players in the state onto campus throughout the fall and high school season.
The Concordia St. Paul Fall League serves as a great preview for the season, given that traditional scrimmages aren’t really a thing in Minnesota. Continuing to raise awareness to the program, eight hand picked Minnesota teams are invited to play in the Concordia St. Paul Holiday Classic, giving fans and scouts alike two days of big time high school hoops. It also gets potential recruits on campus at Concordia St. Paul and provides an opportunity for players to lay ten toes down on the hardwood at CSP’s gorgeous Gangelhoff Center that is offers more than many low major D-1 programs.
Here are the top players we laid eyes on at the 2025 CSP Holiday Invite:

JoJo Mitchell, 6’2, PG, Cretin Derham-Hall (Minn.), 2026
One of the more polished players in the state, JoJo Mitchell is everything that you look for out of a scoring point guard. He plays the game at his own pace, it outstanding at getting to his sweet spots (specifically his pull-up jumper), and is a threat to fill it up anytime that he has the rock. Heading to St. Thomas next year, Mitchell is a perfect fit for Johnny Tauer’s program that is quickly becoming a force in the Summit League.
Jaedan Udean, 6’2, PG/SG, DeLaSalle HS (Minn.), 2027
When you start playing varsity at the middle school level, often times, it’s a blessing and a curse. Jaeden Udean has been well known since before he entered the high school ranks, but now that he’s a junior, I think that many often forget how gifted a scorer he is. The lefty bucket getter reminded everyone of this with his ability to score with limited dribbles coming off screens, create separation off the bounce, and convert with his soft touch once he gets in the paint. While there are players with higher level offers, there isn’t a better pure scorer in Minnesota’s 2027 class than Jaeden Udean, as seen with his 33-point showing.
Ty Schlagel, 6’7, SF, Cretin Derham Hall (Minn.), 2027
Right there in the mix for top 2027 in the state of Minnesota, Ty Schlagel showcased his do-it-all game at the CSP Holiday Invite. The polished swingman can quickly beat you on the baseline with straight line drives, utilizes his size to take smaller defenders to the block, and is automatic with his pull-up jumper. The polished game and ability to help in so many ways is why Nebraska head coach Fred Hoiberg locked up his commitment early on in the process.
Mason Witt, 6’0, PG, Alexandria HS (Minn.), 2026
Another player who many forget what he brings to the table, Mason Witt is another outstanding lead guard who will be making his college decision in the late signing period. The super crafty lefty utilizes angles well on his drives, will hit you with feathery one legged pullups, and offers range as a 3-point threat. Having experience playing with Howard Pulley in the EYBL, Witt has played against high level competition and holds no shortage of D2 offers.
Kenny Turner, 6’8, C, St. Paul Johnson HS (Minn.), 2026
The best big man in the St. Paul City League lived up to his reputation at CSP, providing a dominant low post threat throughout Johnson’s two victories at the Holiday Invite. The physical big is comfortable scoring with his back to the basket, thrives playing through contact, and has gotten more mobile over the years. Still wide open in terms of his recruitment, Turner is one of the better big men left on the board in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
