Chiefs’ Travis Kelce gets monster props from potential future teammate Jordyn Tyson

The Kansas City Chiefs’ long-standing receiver woes could finally get addressed at the 2026 NFL Draft, where they have been linked to Jordyn Tyson with the No. 9 pick. As a huge fan of Travis Kelce, the former Arizona State standout is already prepared to embrace the potential decision.

When asked about his thoughts on potentially playing with Patrick Mahomes, Tyson gave the two-time MVP his flowers. However, he also threw in unprompted praise for Kelce, whom he deemed the “best tight end to ever play.”

“I’ve been a big, big, huge fan of Travis Kelce my whole life,” Tyson said, via KSHB 41 News reporter Matt Foster. “I feel like he’s the best tight end to ever play. So that would be amazing.”

If #Chiefs opt for a WR at #9, Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson could be the pick.

Kelce is certainly on the shortlist of the greatest tight ends in NFL history. His 13,002 career receiving yards are the third-most of all time, behind Tony Gonzalez and Jason Witten, while his three Super Bowl rings as a starter are one short of the most in league history.

Kelce shut down retirement rumors by confirming he would be returning in 2026 early in the offseason. While he has not topped 1,000 receiving yards since the 2022 season, he is still operating at a high level entering his age-37 season.

Adding a receiver like Tyson would help the Chiefs maintain Kelce’s effectiveness this deep into his career. Kansas City has not had a consistent No. 1 receiver since it traded Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins in 2022. Rashee Rice has come the closest since then, but off-the-field issues and a freak torn ACL have prevented him from establishing himself as an elite wide receiver.
