It is important not to read too much into the first race of the season, because it is so unrepresentative. Especially at a track like Buriram, where Michelin brings special tires, and where the riders were all testing less than a week ago. Also because the riders are all a little too excitable: they have three months worth of racing tension built up that gets released at once. That is a recipe for mistakes big and small.
But racing is great again. It may not be entirely representative, but it does afford you a glimpse into how the rest of the season might play out. And on the evidence of the sprint race at Buriram, we are in for an awesome season.
As every Saturday, there are too many things to say and not enough time to say them. This Saturday, with what happened during qualifying and the sprint race, that is a thousand times worse. So for today, I will focus on just a few things.
