The Denver Broncos rolled through a quiet NFL Draft weekend on their side. Denver couldn’t pick until the third round on Friday and made seven selections total. Jonah Coleman will fire up the fanbase, though, for his words involving Bo Nix.
Coleman became the first offensive selection the Broncos made at No. 108 overall in the fourth. The running back aims to boost the ground attack for head coach Sean Payton and Nix.
Yet Coleman plans to do more than carry the rock, revealing his plan via DNVR Broncos Monday.
“Now I get to go protect Bo Nix, and I take pride in that,” Coleman said.
Nix gains a new valuable protector moving forward. Especially as he overcomes his devastating broken bone injury after Denver’s AFC Divisional Playoff round victory over the Buffalo Bills.
Coleman knows he’s not the flashiest of players, but brings a blue collar attitude to the Rocky Mountains.
“I may not have all the exciting plays and all of that, but I do the dirty work,” Coleman said. “I do those things that not a lot of people pay attention to. Just being able to be well rounded.”
The now former Washington Husky quietly produced for the Big Ten university, surpassing 1,000 scrimmage yards each of the past three seasons. He even hit an average of 5.5 yards per carry throughout his CFB career.
Coleman entered draft weekend as one of ClutchPoints’ five best draft sleepers. He heads into a backfield luring back JK Dobbins and RJ Harvey, but adds a blitz pickup presence here.
