Bills taking calls to continue trading down at 2026 NFL Draft

The Buffalo Bills were busy on the first night of the 2026 NFL Draft. Buffalo completed a total of three trades, moving completely out of the first round without making a selection. Now the Bills are apparently considering doubling down on that strategy ahead of Day 2 of the draft.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz named the Bills as one of three teams looking to trade down in the second round.

“Sources: The #49ers, #Cardinals and #Bills have received calls about potential trades at the top of Round 2 tonight, setting up what could be a busy trade night,” Schultz wrote on Friday. “It makes sense as Round 1 ended with five of the final seven picks being traded.”

Buffalo entered the draft with seven total selections. But after their series of trades on Thursday night, the Bills now have nine selections.

Their best pick comes at the top of the second round at 35th overall, the pick they have listened to calls on.

The Bills sent away a 2026 third-round pick (91st overall) and a 2026 fifth-round pick (165th overall) in those trades. However they did gain the following selections in return:

2026 third-round pick (66th overall)
2026 fourth-round pick (101st overall)
2026 fourth-round pick (125th overall)
2026 fifth-round pick (167th overall)

Buffalo is clearly taking the volume approach to the draft. Fortunately for them, there are still plenty of players on the board at their biggest positions of need.

Bills fans should expect their team to make investments at wide receiver, edge rusher, linebacker, and defensive tackle throughout the rest of the draft.

It will be interesting to see if Buffalo makes yet another trade before making their first pick.
