It’s been an interesting offseason in Orchard Park, New York, after the Buffalo Bills traded for DJ Moore to give Josh Allen a new top receiver. Despite this, two insiders believe the Bills could still draft a wide receiver in Round 1 of the NFL Draft, as written by Alaina Getzenberg and Jordan Reid.
“Trading for Moore gives the Bills flexibility to not have to address wide receiver in the first round and prioritize other needs, but it does not mean the position won’t and shouldn’t be considered early. Help is still needed from both a depth and talent perspective, and the president of football operations and general manager Brandon Beane said Buffalo is still open to a wide receiver in the first round,” Getzenberg wrote.
The Bills could select a star wide receiver to pair with Moore and form an elite duo. If they go this route, it could make secondaries think twice about which receiver they need to focus on, while possibly opening up routes for the other. Overall, the Bills have several holes to fill, but wide receiver remains a top priority, especially if they want to give quarterback Josh Allen as many choices as possible.
There is a possibility the Bills might go with more options to add to their palate. In addition to Getzenberg, Reid also believed the Bills might add another receiver.
“Wide receiver and linebacker are the positions that have been heavily linked to the Bills. Even after the acquisition of Moore, they are looking for true separators who can play a multitude of spots in formations,” Reid added.
Time will tell what the Bills do in two weeks when it’s time to make their picks and build a roster that can potentially win a Super Bowl.
