Big Shots Prep Nationals: Top Underclassmen

Throughout an insane travel schedule, we were able to shoot down to Rock Hill, South Carolina, to check out the Big Shots Prep Nationals. A loaded event with teams from all over the country, Kevin Schneider and his staff assembled a group that was honestly too talented to truly evaluate during the sessions I attended.

The event was held at the gorgeous Rock Hill Sports and Event Center. Competitive games were played all day, under-the-radar prospects were found, and championships were won. Big Shots alumni include Ja Morant, Bam Adebayo, Zion Williamson, Mac McClung, and more. The 2026 Big Shots Prep Nationals will undoubtedly provide more information on who might join them in the league.

Having already taken a look at the event’s top overall performers, which included 2028 prospects Dylan Betts and Hendrik Pertel, here is a closer look at the remaining top underclassmen that we saw from the 2026 Big Shots Prep Nationals:

Dazon Reid, 6’4″, PG/SG, Huntington Prep (WV), 2027

A player with size, Dazon Reid was able to play either guard spot for Huntington Prep and showed that he could do damage at both throughout his time at Big Shots Prep Nationals.  The long, athletic guard can defend either position in the backcourt, is a reliable 3-point shooter, and showed he could create for others with the ball in his hands.  Already owning mid-major offers, Dazon could easily reach the high-major level this spring on the AAU circuit.

Charles Matthews, 6’4″, SG, IMG Academy (FL), 2027

While 7-foot-2 five-star Dylan Betts gets the bulk of the acclaim, it was Charles Matthews who led the way in the scoring column for IMG Academy in Rock Hill, scoring 20.7 points per game over the weekend. He possesses nice size for a combo guard, can create off the bounce with a nice burst, and converts tough finishes at the rack.  It was my first time seeing Matthews at the Big Shots Prep Nationals, but I can guarantee that it won’t be my last.

Kenyon St. Louis, 6’2″, PG, Winston Salem Christian (NC), 2028

A player that I had heard about but hadn’t seen yet, Kenyon St. Louis, was the catalyst to Winston Salem Christian’s championship run at the Big Shots Prep Nationals. He was one of the shiftier guards in Rock Hill, was elite at changing speeds at the drop of a dime, and had no problem playing as the facilitator to his fellow D-1 prospects.  Running with Garner Road on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit, St. Louis is definitely a lead guard I look forward to taking a deeper look at.

Aiden Clark, 6’0″, PG, Legacy School of Sport and Science (TX), 2028

After stealing the show at the Pangos All South Frosh/Soph Camp, Aiden Clark put together a nice high school campaign that culminated with an appearance in the championship game of the Big Shots Prep Nationals. The heady lead guard was methodical with his change of speed, showed great poise on the hardwood, and is a very capable 3-point shooter.

Clark holds no shortage of D-1 offers early in the process and proved that he could do it nationally, running with a loaded Max Levels Elite squad on the New Balance P32 circuit this past year.

Tristan Edwards, 6’8″, SF/PF, Huntington Prep (WV), 2029

The Co-MVP of the Pangos All East Frosh/Soph Camp, Tristan Edwards, made the move to Huntington Prep and hasn’t looked back.  The inside/out forward is a constant matchup nightmare defensively and is still finding his role with his new squad, but the talent that he brings to the table is undeniable.  One of the more polished young forwards in the freshman class, Edwards is a definite building block for a new look Huntington Prep squad.

Cameron Prosper, 6’6″, SF/PF, Bethel Academy (VA), 2027

An absolute game-changing defender, the energy that Cameron Prosper brought on that side of the hardwood was absolutely infectious. He is a big-time athlete who can defend multiple positions, has the length to help at the rim, and is a great finisher in transition.  It was my first time seeing Prosper, but he will certainly be a name to track over the next year.

Tylen Kingsby, 6’4″, SG, Huntington Prep (WV), 2029

An absolute freak athlete, Tylen Kingsby showed why there was a bit of buzz surrounding him in the Midwest before he made the move to Huntington Prep. He is a constant lob threat, maintains a presence on the offensive glass, and has immense potential on the defensive end. The Milwaukee native’s growth on the skill side will be worth monitoring closely this summer on the circuit.
