The NFL has confirmed that it is expanding its ongoing investigation into Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs. After being accused of throwing his then-girlfriend to the ground during a physical dispute in his garage in May 2026, a Hobart-Lawrence PD case file obtained by NBC revealed that three more women had accused Jacobs of physical abuse.
Jacobs spent six games on the exempt list earlier this season but currently remains ineligible to play. However, the league released a statement confirming that the new allegations will also be considered during the investigation, per a post on X by Tom Pelissero.
“We will review these allegations as part of the investigation which has remained open,” it said.
The newly released police records contain accounts from three other women who described separate alleged incidents between 2021 and 2022, when Jacobs was playing for the Las Vegas Raiders. The additional allegations come against the backdrop of Jacobs’ May 23 incident, which resulted in his arrest on May 26.
Jacobs was initially arrested on five charges, including felony strangulation. However, the case ultimately resulted in a plea agreement involving two misdemeanor counts: battery and criminal damage to property.
Jacobs’ attorneys issued a statement Saturday claiming that the allegations were old, uncorroborated and previously unreported. They claimed that the Brown County District Attorney’s Office conducted an exhaustive investigation alongside the police department and determined that only two misdemeanor charges were warranted.
Hence, the new allegations have not yet resulted in any criminal charges against Jacobs. Further, the Green Bay Packers have not issued a public response and declined to comment Saturday following the disclosure of the police records.
It remains to be seen how the NFL proceeds with respect to the case. Meanwhile, Jacobs returned to action against the Carolina Panthers on Oct. 29, scoring twice in Green Bay’s 27-19 victory.
