Baltimore Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta is among the best drafters in the league. He gets talent and value to fill needs with almost every pick. The 2026 NFL Draft had been no different. He took arguably the best offensive lineman in the class on Day 1 and continued grabbing value at positions of need on Day 2. Now, heading into Day 3, DeCosta is reportedly looking at one position in particular.
“Ravens GM Eric DeCosta said he expects Baltimore to draft at least one tight end on Day 3,” ESPN’s Jamieson Hensley reports. “Day 2 saw a run on tight ends. There have been 9 tight ends drafted so far, which is tied for the most through three rounds in the common draft era.”
What makes this nine tight end record so interesting is that only one—Oregon’s Kenyon Sadiq to the New York Jets at 16—went in Round 1. After that, there was a major run, with six of the next eight coming off the board between picks 54 and 73.
While the 2026 NFL Draft tight end class is not a loaded one by any means, it is deep, with potential role players or even starters available well into Day 3. The Ravens have a staggering eight picks on Saturday, so they should easily be able to grab one or even two TEs in Rounds 4 through 7.
When Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft kicks off, the top TE prospects left on the board include Justin Joly (NC State), Michael Trigg (Baylor), Jack Endries (Texas), Riley Nowakowski (Indiana), Josh Cuevas (Alabama), and Joe Royer (Cincinnati).
