The Philadelphia 76ers will be at home for Game 3 against the Boston Celtics as the series is tied 1-1. There’s no doubt that the Philly crowd will be hype, and they’ll have stars out celebrating the team. They’ll also have the Eagles’ latest draft pick in the building to ring the bell, according to Jason Dumas of 6abc.
“The newest Eagle, Makai Lemon will be introduced to the local media early this evening and then I am told he will head over to Xfinity Mobile Arena to ring the bell ahead of the Sixers/Celtics game. Love the synergy amongst the teams. Been a fun week to be a Philly sports fan,” Dumas wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
This has to be a special moment for Lemon to be embraced by Philly fans before he even steps on the field for an offensive snap.
It has been a crazy 24 hours for Lemon, and there was a good chance that he wasn’t going to end up on the Eagles. Everyone has seen the video by now of Lemon getting the call from Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Omar Khan, as they planned on taking him with the No. 21 pick.
“Makai, hey, it’s Omar with the Steelers. How are ya,” Khan said.

Moments later, Lemon got a call from the Eagles.
“Why is Philly calling me?” Lemon said.
“This is Philly. They just traded for you. Philly’s taking you right now,” Lemon’s agent said.
The Eagles had traded the No. 23, No. 114 and No. 137 picks to the Dallas Cowboys to move up to No. 20. They ended up getting their guy, and he should be a key part of their offense on Day 1, especially with the rumblings of AJ Brown being traded soon to the New England Patriots.
