Carson Beck labeled a name to watch for Cardinals at No. 34

The Arizona Cardinals were a rumored destination for Ty Simpson before the Los Angeles Rams shockingly took him at No. 13. It leaves the team that released Kyler Murray with a little bit more urgency to target a quarterback, as it is one area where they need to improve. Adding a quarterback to pair with Jeremiyah Love could be a savvy move for the Cardinals, and Carson Beck feels like a possibility with the 34th pick in the NFL Draft,  according to Ian Rapoport via X, formerly Twitter.

Carson Beck isn’t everyone’s favorite quarterback, but it’s hard to deny that he wins wherever he goes. When Beck was chasing National Championships at Georgia, the argument against him was that he didn’t have to be as good with a team like that around them. Then, proving the haters wrong, Beck transferred to Miami and orchestrated a memorable run to the National Championship game before running into the buzzsaw that was Indiana.

The Cardinals are currently entering the season with a quarterback room of Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew II. They do need to add through the draft, and with the Simpson reach, other teams are going to start reaching to not miss out on one of the few quarterbacks.

The Miami Dolphins and New York Jets will also be looking at quarterbacks in the mid-rounds, with the Pittsburgh Steelers also having interest. The Cardinals may feel that the 34th pick is their best chance to add a quarterback to their locker room and not have to worry about where the other chips will fall.
