Puka Nacua’s attorney, Levi McCathern, recently clarified that the Los Angeles Rams star wide receiver voluntarily entered a holistic care facility in early March to focus on his personal growth and professional performance. This decision was made prior to any formal civil allegations being made public or temporary restraining orders being filed. According to McCathern, Nacua aimed to take full responsibility for his well-being during the offseason and specifically planned his stay to ensure he would be ready to return for the team’s official spring activities.
That plan appears to have been successful, as the organization officially began its schedule this week.
Ian Rapoport reported on X that Puka Nacua was present for the first day of the Rams’ offseason program, and his participation on the first day indicates a swift transition from his holistic rehab stay back to the training facility, demonstrating his intention to remain a key part of the roster despite the significant personal and legal challenges that have surrounded him since the end of last season.
However, Nacua’s off-field conduct continues to be a significant concern for many observers in the league.
Despite receiving All-Pro First Team honors in 2025, his offseason has been filled with controversies, including league fines for criticizing referees and a civil lawsuit alleging antisemitic statements and physical assault during a New Year’s Eve event.
The erratic nature of his behavior has led sports commentator Dan Patrick to compare Nacua to Antonio Brown, suggesting that Nacua’s pursuit of internet fame may create additional distractions.
With a legal hearing having just taken place on April 14, Nacua now faces a high-pressure situation as he attempts to balance his professional responsibilities with defending against serious allegations.
