Falcons’ Tua Tagovailoa grabs attention after showing up to brother’s UFL game

Tua Tagovailoa is eager to have a fresh start in his up-and-down career, signing a one-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons after spending six years with the Miami Dolphins.

The change of scenery could bode well for the 28-year-old quarterback, who has been hampered by various injuries, including multiple concussions, in recent seasons.

In the meantime, with training camp still a few weeks away, Tagovailoa is spending time with his family. He attended the game of his brother, Taulia Tagovailoa, who also plays quarterback for the Houston Gamblers in the UFL.

The elder Tagovailoa told ESPN that he was proud to see his brother in action, along with some familiar faces.

“That was really cool, what they were doing. Pretty easy for him, just hand the ball off. First play touchdown,” said the one-time Pro Bowler.

“Outside of that, I think this is an awesome environment for a lot of the guys I’ve played with and played against. I think that was something that’s pretty new for me to see.”

Fans admired Tagovailoa for the wholesome moment.

“What a great guy,” said @FinsRuinedme.

“That’s really cool of Tua to show up for his brother. Taulia’s doing well in the UFL too, wonder if we’ll see more NFL players supporting their siblings in other leagues,” added @maganewsbites.

“Sibling love remains the best,” wrote @Perpena1.

“That’s real brotherly love right there,” commented @MacroBombastic.

“So sweet of him. This is so amazing and good,” posted @Mrsmissangy.

The Gamblers lost to the Louisville Kings in overtime, 24-22.

Meanwhile, Tagovailoa will have to battle Michael Penix Jr. for the starting job on the Falcons.

Last season, Tagovailoa passed for 2,660 yards, 20 touchdowns, and a career-worst 15 interceptions in 14 games. Penix, meanwhile, tallied 1,982 yards, nine touchdowns, and three interceptions in nine outings.
