During his first regular season game with the New York Giants in 2024 against the Minnesota Vikings, edge rusher Brian Burns donned the new “Century Red” jerseys to celebrate the team’s 100th anniversary.
Initially, these jerseys were not popular amongst fans, as the Giants were roasted for them. The pattern featured red, white, and blue matched with tan pants.
Burns was also not a big fan upon first seeing them, as he told ClutchPoints while talking about his upcoming charity softball game, which takes place on May 30, 2026, at Clover Stadium in Pomona, New York. However, he eventually changed his tune on them. It took seeing them in person for him to change his mind.
“At first I didn’t like them, seeing them on the phone or whatever,” Burns conceded. “I was like, ‘Ah, they’re all right. Not bad.’ But in person, I had a completely different reaction. I was like, ‘Okay, these are tough.’ It was fun to wear those — something new. It was a different vibe, a different style for the Giants, and it was fun.”
What is Brian Burns’ favorite Giants jersey?

While Burns wasn’t initially on board with the “Century Red” jerseys, he has always liked another one New York occasionally wears.
“I like the legacy blues,” Burns revealed.
The legacy blue jerseys Burns mentioned pay homage to the Giants teams of the ’80s and ’90s. While they are still the signature Giants blue, they feature different red stripes and a dark blue helmet with the old school team logo.
They usually wear them a couple of times a year. The Giants also have vintage white uniforms, which were previously known as their “Color Rush” jersey. They feature a similar dark blue helmet but an all-white uniform with blue numbers.
Hopefully, the Giants have better luck in the legacy blue jerseys in 2026. They wore them twice in 2025, losing both games against the San Francisco 49ers and Washington Commanders.
