If Dexter Lawrence were to go to the Cincinnati Bengals, as his current contract with the New York Giants is in a standstill, one offensive lineman is sharing his honest feelings about the possibility.
Jermaine Eluemunor took to X to share what he thought of Kay Adams’ conversation with Bengals left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. and how he was recruiting him for the Bengals next season. Eluemunor, who signed with the Giants in 2024, re-signed with them in March 2026, is not willing to get rid of Lawrence. The right tackle shared a “Stone Cold” Steve Austin meme in reaction to the thought. If the meme wasn’t clear enough, Eluemunor also simply wrote “no.”

Earlier this month, Lawrence requested a trade from the Giants due to a contract dispute, as the NFL market has been in need of tackles of his caliber. He is in the third year of a 4-year, $90 million extension that he signed in 2023, which would run through 2027. Giants’ general manager Joe Schoen shared with ESPN how the negotiations are going thus far.
“We’ve had good conversations with his representatives throughout the last five or six days,” Schoen said. “Coach, [senior vice president of football operations and strategy] Dawn [Aponte], myself, we’ve all been in communication, trying to find some resolution.
“I’ll echo what coach said last week: We’d like for Dexter to be here, and at some point we’ll come to a resolution here, whatever that may be. We’ll see. But conversations have been really good, they’ve been productive and we’ll see what happens here down the road.”
NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported they have reached an impasse that a resolution is likely to come prior to next week’s 2026 NFL Draft. The 2026 NFL Draft will be held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from April 23–25, 2026.
