Tom Brady shows up at Raiders’ facility amid Fernando Mendoza visit

The Las Vegas Raiders own the No. 1 pick overall in the 2026 NFL Draft. With the club needing a quarterback, speculation continues to grow that the franchise could select former Indiana Hoosiers star Fernando Mendoza. On Tuesday, during his visit with the organization, it sounds like Tom Brady had a chance to meet with Mendoza face-to-face.

Reports indicate that Brady, who is a part-owner of the Raiders, was at the facilities on Tuesday at the same time Mendoza was having his official visit with the club, according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.

“Raiders owner Tom Brady was in the facility today as projected No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza was in for his official visit,” reported Meirov.

Although this doesn’t guarantee Mendoza will be the pick when the draft starts on April 23, it is noteworthy that Brady potentially got some one-on-one time with the 22-year-old quarterback. The Raiders are seemingly turning every stone before making a final decision, as every NFL franchise does when they own the No. 1 pick of the draft.

If anybody knows what traits make a quarterback special, you would think it would be Tom Brady. A former sixth-round pick himself, Brady utilized an incredible work ethic and consistent studying to become the greatest quarterback in league history.

Fernando Mendoza is coming off a solid 2025-26 campaign. Not only did he lead Indiana to its first college football championship in program history, but he was also named the Heisman Trophy winner for the season. Mendoza ended his final year in college with 3,535 passing yards and 41 touchdowns through the air (led the nation) while completing 72.0% of his pass attempts.
