Why Matt Nagy is excited to coach Giants’ Jaxson Dart after tenure with Patrick Mahomes

With the New York Giants now under head coach John Harbaugh, he would bring in Matt Nagy to be the new offensive coordinator to help quarterback Jaxson Dart’s development. While fans see Dart’s potential with the Giants as the sky being the limit, Nagy would express why he’s excited to coach the 22-year-old.

Nagy has been around elite talent at the position, especially in his last spot, where he was the offensive coordinator of the Kansas City Chiefs with Patrick Mahomes. He would speak about how impressed he’s been with Dart and how excited he is to help the growth of Dart.

“I was able to watch a decent amount of Jaxson last year when I was in Kansas City,” Nagy said, via SNY Giants. “I remember coming away really impressed with jaXSON and his accuracy. And then I didn’t know, back then, a year ago or two years ago, I didn’t know how tough he was and how good a runner he was. He was a really good, sneaky, good runner, tough, physical, played the quarterback position well, accurate, and you can see he was a competitor.”

“My initial conversation with Coach [Harbaugh] was, ‘Hey, excited, really looking forward to being able to help out in many ways and building that relationship and that trust. I know he had a great year last year, but we want to make it even better and continue to have him grow. I want to be there to help him.”

With Dart heading into his second season, there will no doubt be a lot of eyes on him, as last season, he recorded 2,272 yards to go along with 15 touchdowns and five interceptions in 14 games.
